Harbor Lights began with a simple but powerful idea: local homes deserve local lighting expertise — without the hassle of travelling to Adelaide or settling for chain-store service.

Founded by the family behind BCS Electrical, a trusted name in the Fleurieu Peninsula for over 30 years, Harbor Lights is the next chapter in a story of dedication, quality, and community.

From Sparky to Specialist Lighting Store

For decades, we’ve been inside the homes of Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Port Elliot, Middleton, and beyond — installing, upgrading, and advising on all things electrical. We noticed a common frustration from our customers: “Where can I actually see good lighting locally?”

Chain hardware stores offered quantity, but not quality or advice. Online stores overwhelmed people with choice, but no confidence.

As electrical contractors we were unable to purchase lighting at wholesale prices and deliver quality lighting and ceiling fans at competitive prices.

There had to be a better way.  So we created one – enter Harbor Lights

Why We Built Harbor Lights

Harbor Lights was launched to become the first and only specialist lighting and electrical retail store on the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. It’s a showroom where you can:

  • See how a pendant light really glows.
  • Feel the quality of a ceiling fan or switch.
  • Talk to someone who actually knows the product — and your house style.

Whether you’re replacing a light globe, planning a renovation, or lighting up a holiday rental, we wanted to give the community a space where lighting feels easy, inspiring, and local.

A New Name, Same Trusted Roots

While Harbor Lights is a separate brand from BCS Electrical, we still carry the same values: honesty, hands-on knowledge, and genuine care. This means:

  • You’re not locked into using a particular electrician — but we’re happy to recommend someone local and reliable.
  • You can enjoy better pricing on quality products, thanks to our ability to source stock directly from lighting suppliers.
  • You’re always welcome to come in for advice — even if you’re not ready to buy today.

Our team are locals who understand Fleurieu homes, weather, lifestyle, and tastes — because we live here too, and we only deal with electrical items, so we’re knowledgeable and specialists.
